GW11: Dos and Don'ts

Stoke v Leicester

An interesting clash, this one. Stoke won at Watford last week, meaning they quickly got over the City massacre the week before that. Leicester, however, seem to be finding their form again as their two consecutive victories against Swansea and Everton demonstrate. All is open in this encounter. Lets not forget Mourinho's in-form United couldn't win at the bet365 stadium earlier in the season, which is evidence of how tough a ground it can be.

DOs:

  • Mahrez (8.4): The assist-machine is gearing up and we won't hesitate to jump on his bandwagon. He has a lot of catching up to do.
  • Diouf (5.5): A cheap striker who was scored in Stoke's last two home games, with three goals in his last four matches in total.

DON'Ts:

  • Ndidi. In fantasy-terms, there couldn't be a more ineffective player. 2.1 points per game, having played the full 90 minutes in each and every game so far. Dear me.
  • Jese. No longer a guaranteed starter. This blog stood by him since he arrived, but it is time to cut our losses.

Huddersfield v West Brom

With West Brom's away record questionable so far, having 1 win and 1 draw out of 5 matches (why Tony?!?!), we will take a wild stab in the dark and assume that the baggies are going to defend by numbers. Huddersfield play attractive football and we expect them to win, keeping a clean sheet in the process.

DOs:

  • Lossl (4.6): We have advised against buying him numerous times so far, we know. But we are an open-minded lot and flexible in our suggestions, having our readers' best interests as our first priority. So, clean sheet coming, apparently saves the occasional penalty; buy.
  • Depoitre (5.2): The Mounie-killer will have his chances to score against West Brom

DON'Ts:

  • Hegazi. West Brom's top fantasy player is in danger of conceding a couple of goals and perhaps even a yellow card. Stay away.
  • Barry. Refrain from getting overly excited by his previous match. It took him about a quarter of a season to deliver, so we will revisit his option around early 2018.

Newcastle v Bournemouth

It is results like the one against Burnley that will keep Newcastle from competing at the layer that Rafa inspires them to be, and that is somewhere around the European spots. Still, their home form is impressive against the so-called lower teams with three wins. There couldn't be a better opponent after a loss than Bournemouth who have four losses in five away games. We suggest a 2-1 win for Rafa's army.

DOs:

  • Ritchie (5.9): Newcastle's Mr. Assist
  • Atsu (5.1): This blog's wonderkid that can be involved in creation as well as execution of plays
  • Surman (4.6): With King and Stanislas doubtful, if you are to pick a Bournemouth player, pick him.

DON'Ts:

  • Begovic. One clean sheet so far. Not doubling that number this gameweek.
  • Joselu. A week for introspection four our blog it seems. We are cutting our losses and dumping him.

Southampton v Burnley

Both of the teams are characterized for their solid defences this year. Burnley have played against some of the best teams in the league, Southampton not. Both they struggle to score. Gabbiadini is the best forward for Soton with 3 goals, Wood for Burnley with 3 goals as well but Wood is injured. It will not be a fun game to watch, that's for sure and we do not expect more than 1 goal. We expect a narrow win for Burnley. They did it last week against Newcastle and in general, they have the know how to beat teams that they play the same style as they do.

Dos

Pope(4,5): If you have any questions about this choice, it is better to stop playing fantasy. A better option for a keeper, it is impossible to find.
Lowton(4,5): 10 games, 900 minutes, 9 goals conceded, no yellow cards, 1 assist, 2 bonus points. What else to ask from a defender who plays for Burnley?

Don'ts

Barnes: 8 games came from the bench for Burnley and he has offered nothing.
Romeu: He is cheap, but no extra points to gain, only to lose with 3 yellow cards already in his pocket.

Swansea v Brighton

Hmmm..It is a game that I wouldn't watch. The quality of football that we are going to watch is a bit better than a summer friendly in June. Swansea have not get any points from their last 3 games. Brighton keep surprising us with the exceptional Gross and they manage to get enough points to be at the middle of the table. I would expect a goal-goal draw.

Dos

Gross(5,8) 2 goals, 5 assists. 70% of Brighton's goals come through his legs. His price keeps on rising.
Abraham(5,9) The 3rd option for your forwards. Cheap with 4 goals and 1 assist for his team.

Don'ts

Fer: 9 games 4 yellow cards, no goals, 1 assist. We can find much better solutions for our bench with such value.
Duffy: Brighton will concede, you do not need to lose extra points for a yellow card. Correct?

West Ham v Liverpool

An interesting clash. West Ham did not manage to beat Crystal Palace previous week. Liverpool had an easy midweek game against Maribor and they won Huddersfield 3-0 last week. We believe that it will be an easy win for Liverpool. They both have serious defensive issues but Liverpool have the quality to score more. We predict a 2-3 win for Liverpool.

Dos

Salah(9,2) He is the most valuable player of Liverpool this season. 5 goals & 3 assists in PL, 4 goals in CL and he is considered a midfielder for PL fantasy, so your choice gives you extra points.
Chicharito(6,9) We would expect more things from him this year. 4 goals in 10 games is not so bad, but he has the quality to score more. He can do it against Liverpool's defence

Don'ts

Simply, avoid both defences.
Chamberlain: He was at the starting 11 against Maribor, but we do not see him starting this one.

Spurs Crystal v Palace

Palace have managed the last 3 games not to concede more than 2 goals in a game. It is time that they will concede more than that once again. Spurs showed quality by beating 3-1 Real Madrid. Kane is back after a hamstring injury and he makes our life easier in order to suggest that Spurs will have an easy evening against Palace.

Dos

Eriksen(9,7) He will score and he will assist
Kane(12,6) 2 or 3 goals or even more. If there were not the double/triple weeks at the end of the season would be the safest choice for a triple captain week
Aurier(5,9) He did not start against Real Madrid, so he is a safe option for Spurs' defence to be at the starting 11

DONTS

PALACE No need to repeat ourselves again.

Man City v Arsenal

City look unstoppable. They keep winning and they keep scoring. 35 goals in 10 games in PL. A big variety of players who score and assist. It is difficult to make the correct choice week by week.
Wenger did an extensive rotation last night and Arsenal had a goalless draw against Red Star. They face defensive issues and it will be extremely difficult not to concede against City. Kolasinac is injured, who is their best defender. We expect an easy win for City.

Dos

Sane(8,7) Last 7 games: 6 goals & 5 assists! He has been orgasmic!
Walker(6,6) He has 4 assists so far this season. He is a good choice with a possible clean sheet

DONTS

Arsenal's defence. They will probably concede more than 1 goal.
Giroud: Why to get a forward of such a value, only to see him not at the starting 11 once again?

Chelsea v Man Utd

This is the second big game of the week. Can we make a safe prediction for this game? Yes, we expect a double decker bus from our beloved Mourinho. United have not been impressive lately and they only manage to get results. Chelsea suffered a heavy defeat against Roma. They both look scared to attack but we expect a surprise from them. A game with more than 2 goals. Why that? Let' say, it is our sixth sense.

Dos

Lukaku or Morata? We believe that they will both score or they will both contribute an assist for their team. It is a risky choice for many but yes! Choose both of them!
Lukaku & Morata

Donts

It is my first time to write this and probably the last one. Do not pick up De Gea.
David Luiz: It is a derby, what do you expect from a brainless defender? To get a red card.

Everton v Watford

We see Everton impossible to play better. They lost 3-0 against Lyon last night. They are already disqualified from Europa League with 2 games remaining. I do not believe that anybody expects them to beat Watford. Watford play much better at the away games than at the home ones and they have a chance to continue this tradition in this game. Everton cannot score and their defence is the worst ever. We expect a 1-2 win for Watford

Dos

Richarlison(6,4) If we get his name correct, it is because he will score
Rooney(7,3) If he does not start delivering in games like this, Everton will go down

Donts

Gueye: The man, the legend. 5 yellow cards, 16 fantasy points in 10 games.
Williams: We have to pick someone from Everton's defence and he is the one most likely that he will not contribute a goal or an assist by accident.
